Urzua throws seven TD passes in North win to earn Offensive Player of the Week

North QB John Urzua (9) threw seven TD passes in the Bulldog victory against Duluth last week.

North Gwinnett quarterback John Urzua is the Gwinnett Sports Report Offensive Player of the Week for Week 10 after passing for 399 yards and seven touchdowns in the Bulldogs blowout win over Duluth, 71-24.

Urzua was 18-of-27 for 399 yards on his way to his second seven touchdown game of the season after having done the same in Week 1 against McEachern-ranked No. 1 at the time-in a game that North won 52-49. The senior was also the Offensive Player of the Week for Weeks 1 and 6.

The win keeps North in the chase for the Region 7-AAAAAA title along with Peachtree Ridge, Norcross and Mill Creek. The Bulldogs will play Meadowcreek, winless in region play, this Friday while the Hawks visit the Blue Devils and the Lions play the Eagles on the road.
