There will be eight teams playing in two conferences, Eastern and Western, for the 2016 season. Five of the teams (Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Omaha, and Seattle) are returning while three (Austin, Dallas, and New England) are first-year teams.
The Eastern Conference will consist of the Steam, Bliss, and Heart again this season with the Liberty joining them while the Western Conference will again include the Temptation and Mist with the Acoustic and Desire joining them.
The teams will play a four-game schedule in 2016 that will include two home and two away games. Each team will play the three teams in their conference as well as a matchup against a team from the other conference.
Atlanta fans will have to wait until Week 8 of the season before they will be able to see their Steam in action.
Atlanta Steam 2016 Schedule
Friday, June 3/ 8PM ET vs. Omaha Heart
Saturday, July 9/ 8PM ET vs. Los Angeles Temptation
Saturday, July 23/ 8PM ET @ New England Liberty
Saturday, August 6/ 8PM CT @ Chicago Bliss
The conference championships are scheduled for Saturday, August 13 with the Legends Cup coming two weeks later.
Those that liked the six-game schedule from 2015 will be disappointed with the return to a four-game slate, and Atlanta fans are sure to be unhappy about the game with Chicago coming on the road. Last season, the Steam and Bliss were scheduled to meet three times in the regular season, two of which were set for the Windy City.
