Mill Creek, coming off a shutout against Archer in the quarterfinal round, surrendered just 88 points all season but Colquitt County racked up 569 yards of total offense on the way to the 52 point explosion that brought the Hawk 13-game win streak, as well as their season, to an end.
Packer quarterback Chase Parrish threw for 431 yards and six touchdowns on just 19 completions, including scoring strikes of 79, 46, 78, 73 and 55 yards. While the air attack was what locked up the victory, the Colquitt County ground game contributed 138 yards in the win.
Considering that Mill Creek came in having allowed just 143 yards a game, the Colquitt County performance is even more impressive. The Hawks averaged nearly five sacks a game in their previous 13 games, but didn’t get one against the Packers.
Mill Creek scored more than all but one Colquitt County opponent this season in the loss, which was closer than the score would suggest. The teams were separated by just four points, 35-31, in the final quarter before a critical penalty on a Packer punt gave the ball back to Colquitt with a new set of downs. The next play was a 73-yard score that pushed the visitors lead to 11 before Colquitt County added another 10 points over the final eight minutes of the game to earn their ticket to the Dome.

Mill Creek QB Cameron Turley, a junior, had 209 yards passing with a touchdown and also ran for a score in the loss. Chase Turner had a 70-yard punt return that cut the Hawk deficit to 28-24 late in the 3rd Quarter, but Colquitt County needed just 18 seconds to answer with a score of their own, a 78-yard pass to Ty Powell, to push the advantage back to 11 points.
Three receivers hit the century mark in receiving yards in the game with Ty Lee (135) and Kiel Pollard (127) doing it for Colquitt County while Omari Sanders (100) did it for Mill Creek.
Colquitt County will meet Roswell (14-0), who beat Grayson on a Hail Mary with seconds remaining to advance to the finals, next Saturday to decide the AAAAAA championship.
