The Atlanta Gladiators begin February in second place in the South Division of the ECHL after posting a 6-7-0-1 mark during January action. The 13 point month improved the Gladiators season total to 53 (25-17-2-1), placing them No. 5 in the 14 team Eastern Conference with 27 games remaining in the regular season.

TOP SCORERS

Derek Nesbitt has 40 points (22G, 18A) on the season, and continues to lead Atlanta in scoring after adding 12 points to his season total during January action. The 33-year old Nesbitt is the only Gladiator to break the 40 point mark, one of three that have tallied more than 30 for the season. Gary Nunn (34 points/ 8G, 26A) and Thomas Frazee (32 points/ 7G, 25A) are the other skaters on the roster with 30+ points. Brock Higgs (29) and Tyler Murovich (27) should join Nesbitt, Nunn, and Frazee in the 30+ group soon.

GOALIES

Atlanta has started three different goalies this season, but Andy Iles (3-2-0-0) went to the Brampton Beast (0-1-0-1) and is now with the Cincinnati Cyclones (3-3-0-0) leaving Kent Patterson (12-7-1-0) and Matt Ginn (10-8-1-1) sharing time between the pipes. Patterson went 2-4-0-0 in January after posting a 7-0-1 mark in December while Ginn was 4-3-0-1 to start 2016.

Both Patterson, a 27-year old veteran, and Ginn, a 24-year old rookie, have a Goals Against Average (GAA) of 2.87. The two have played almost identical minutes with Ginn having logged 1193 minutes in his 20 games and Patterson totaling 1170 in his 20 games.

Atlanta will play 10 games in February, just two of which will be at home-both this weekend.
