Head coach Dane Robinson led the Atlanta Steam onto the field for the final sessions of the preseason last weekend with veterans fighting to keep their starting jobs and rookies fighting to make the roster. After evaluating the player performances over the last month, Robinson and his experienced staff made the final decisions about which athletes would wear the red and black this season. As expected, the final roster includes several new faces.

LFL rosters consist of 20 players, 14 of which are listed as “Active” for each game on a week to week basis. Robinson has 13 players that, if healthy, will be active every week. There are three players that will be competing for the 14th spot on the game day active list while the remaining four players will fill out the practice squad and be available and ready if needed due to injuries.

In addition to the official league roster, Robinson named five players that will be included as a part of the practice squad. Those players are Mari Young (CB), Adrianna Smith (DE/G), Oreonna Taylor (QB), Santia Deck (RB), and Carolyn Wright (CB). Smith, Taylor, and Deck are LFL rookies.

With four of the 20 players on the final roster being rookies and five that will be playing their first season with Atlanta, Steam fans will have some new faces and names to learn.

Roster Notes

Brianna Brown is the only of the four rookies on the 20-player roster to be named to the regular “Active” list.

The on again, off again season of Kimm Chase seems to be off again.

Amanda Ruller is recovering from an injury, but is expected to be ready for the Steam season opener so she is one of the “On the Bubble” players for the 14-player active list.

Brittany Morgan (pictured above) was Atlanta's first QB (2013), but Hughes (pictured below) took the reigns in 2014 and hopes to take the Eastern Conference title back Atlanta lost to Chicago last season.
