The Chicago Bliss (4-0) closed out their regular season with a 66-0 blowout of the Denver Dream (0-4) in Week 16 of the LFL 2017 season in what was also the season (and possibly the franchise) finale for Denver. As projected in last week’s preview, Chicago didn’t come close to the century mark, but left no doubt as to their preparedness for the Eastern Conference title game.

The Bliss were up by 40 at the half, and could have hit the 90-point mark against the Dream as they did in the teams’ first meeting, but rested key players in a game that was decided before the players took the field.

The loss closes out an ugly inaugural season for the Dream in which Denver was outscored 363-6 in their four games, a level of futility never seen in a league that has seen very bad teams in the past. The Dream O didn’t manage a score in their final three games and the D barely managed a stop.

With Los Angeles (3-0) @ Atlanta (2-1) meeting this Saturday in the 16th and final game of the 2017 LFL regular season, the league is in serious need of a competitive game.

The first 15 games have resulted in only two with victory margins of less than 10-points (21-20, 34-27), and one other with a margin of 20-points (46-26). The remaining 12 games were blowouts that saw margins of 23, 87, 35, 73, 106, 36, 28, 98, 28, 56, 60 and 66 points. With the Chicago shutout of Denver, the average winning margin for the season rose slightly, from 45 to 49 points a game.
