The Atlanta Gladiators (0-4-0-0, 0 Points) opened the 15th anniversary home schedule at the Infinite Energy Arena on Friday, October 20 against the same Florida Everblades (4-0-0-0, 8 Points) club that hung a pair of road losses on Atlanta on the opening weekend of the 2017 ECHL season just a week prior. The Gladiators were looking to even the mark with the Blades on the second weekend of the season, but Florida headed back home with two more wins after Atlanta fell by a 4-2 count on Friday and a 5-1 final on Saturday.

In a battle of 2-0 teams, the Atlanta Falcons traveled to Detroit to face the Lions in a pairing that turned out to be as good as the billing. Despite Atlanta scoring first and never trailing over the first 59 minutes of the game, the outcome remained in question until the final eight seconds.

The Atlanta Falcons (1-0) began their defense of the NFC title with a road win against the Chicago Bears (0-1) in Week 1 of the NFL 2017 regular season. On Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons, under the tutelage and direction of head coach Dan Quinn, were able to outlast the Chicago Bears for the win, a hard win to say the least.

After an 0-4 preseason, the Atlanta Falcons travel to Chicago to face the Bears for the season opener on Sunday and while this game will not define the season for the Birds, it will set a course. Head Coach Dan Quinn and his team want to start with a solid performance, and a road win in the Windy City would get Atlanta started in the right direction.
