Grayson QB Chase Brice (2) had a record setting game last week in a win that completed a perfect regular season for the Rams.

Grayson completed the regular season schedule undefeated and sits on top of the Week 11 Gwinnett AAAAAA Power Ranking. Archer has one loss (to Grayson) and is No. 2 with Mill Creek, the lone unbeaten Region 7 team, No. 3 while Peachtree Ridge, the Hawks Week 12 opponent, is No. 4.

Fred Payton (9) and his Peachtree Ridge teammates will be on the road against Mill Creek in a game that will deceide the AAAAAA-Region 7 championship.

With the final week of the regular season schedule pairing the two AAAAAA-Region 7 undefeated teams (Mill Creek and Peachtree Ridge) as well as the two teams with 4-2 marks (Collins Hill and Norcross), there is little question that the scheduling Gods did a great job setting up the 2015 slate of games.

Gwinnett County fields 23 high school football teams, 17 of which play in AAAAAA and six that play in smaller classifications (A, AA, AAAA, and AAAAA). This is a review of the Week 11 Georgia High School Association (GHSA) schedule for those teams.

Mill Creek defeated Brookwood on Saturday afternoon to capture the GHSA AAAAAA softball championship.

The Georgia High School Association AAAAAA softball championship game paired Mill Creek and Brookwood, both Gwinnett County teams, on Saturday afternoon at the Columbus Softball Complex where the Hawks came out on top of the Broncos by a 5-2 score to capture the 2015 state title.Mill Creek defeated Brookwood 2-0 on Friday night in the winner’s bracket before the two teams met again after the Broncos beat East Coweta in the finals of the loser’s bracket to advance to the rematch.

Grayson fans and cheerleaders can celebrate an undefeated regular season during a BYE week ahead of the opening if the GHSA playoffs.

The next to last week of the Georgia High School Association regular season football schedule included Grayson completing a perfect regular season, Archer locking up the No. 2 seed and Central Gwinnett securing their second consecutive trip to the playoffs.

The Mill Creek defense shuts down opponents while the Hawk offense is the highest scoring in the league which is why Mill Creek is a win away from joining Grayson (Refion 8) as the lone unbeaten 6A teams from the county.

The AAAAAA-Region 7 Power Ranking for Week 11 is the same as the previous week because the team with the higher ranking won every game-again. The ranking is unchanged for the fifth consecutive week.

Grayson, Archer and Central Gwinnett have locked up appearances in the Georgia High School Association state playoffs as three of the four teams that will represent AAAAAA-Region 8. Because Brookwood, Dacula and Parkview may all finish 4-4 in league play, the final league representative won’t be determined until the last Friday of the regular season.

Mill Creek and Peachtree Ridge can make AAAAAA-Region 7 a two-team battle for the title with wins over Norcross and Collins Hill, teams that were both undefeated in league play going into Week 10 competition before dropping their first region games when the Eagles were defeated by the Hawks and the Blue Devils lost to the Lions.
