Greater Atlanta Christian will host Pace Academy in the semifinal round of the GHSA football playoffs.

Pace Academy will travel to Norcross to face Greater Atlanta Christian for the second time this season, this time with a trip to the finals of the Georgia High School Association football championships on the line. The Spartans beat the Knights by 20 points, 33-13, when the teams played in Week 8 of the season.

Buford will be home against undefeated Woodward Academy in the GHSA AAAA semifinal round.

Buford will play Woodward Academy in front of their home fans on Friday night in a Georgia High School Association AAAA semifinal matchup. The Wolves will meet the War Eagles in one of the four semifinal round games that is being played in Gwinnett County.

Mill Creek (13-0) will be home against Colquitt County (13-0) this Friday in one of two Georgia High School Association AAAAAA football semifinal matchups involving Gwinnett County teams. While an appearance in the semifinal round has become a habit for the Packers, the defending state champions, it will be the first Final Four appearance for the Hawks.

Buford (AAAA) and Greater Atlanta Christian (AA) both won their quarterfinal matchups to advance to the semifinal round of the Georgia High School Association football championships. With AAAAAA teams Grayson and Mill Creek also advancing to the semifinal round, Gwinnett County is home to four of the final 28 teams playing football in the state with the possibility of championships in three of the seven classifications in Georgia.

Gwinnett County teams Archer, Collins Hill, Grayson, and Mill Creek that took the field in the quarterfinal round of the Georgia High School Association AAAAAA state football playoffs, and when the dust had cleared the Hawks and Rams had punched their tickets to the semifinal round where county teams will again be half of the combatants.

After wins in the Sweet 16 Round, Region 7 champion Mill Creek and No. 3 seed Collins Hill will be joined by Region 8 winner Grayson and No. 2 seed Archer in the quarterfinals of the AAAAAA Georgia High School Association state football championships.

Archer, Collins Hill, Grayson, and Mill Creek will be trying to advance to the semifinals in Georgia’s largest classification (until next season), while Buford (AAAA) and Greater Atlanta Christian (AA) will be doing the same from smaller classifications.

Like Region 7, Region 8 saw two of the three teams that took the field for second round games in the Georgia High School Association AAAAAA football playoffs win to move on to the quarterfinal round. Grayson, Archer, and Central Gwinnett all won opening round contests, but just the Rams and Tigers won on Friday night to remain in the hunt for a state title.
