Falcons stumble, but no need to panic

The Atlanta Falcons (3-2) have now dropped two consecutive games, and fans have begun to question the play calling by the new OC as well as the quarterback play, many even saying it’s time to move on from the 10-year veteran QB Matt Ryan. In my opinion, those voicing that thought are overreacting to a pair of disappointing losses.

When the Atlanta Falcons took the field against the Buffalo Bills for their Week 4 matchup, Atlanta was the only unbeaten team in the NFC with the No. 4 offense in the league.  The Birds were hoping to maintain the unbeaten run against a good Bills team in the Mercedes Benz stadium.  However, they were unable to do so.  Buffalo came into Atlanta on a mission to end the win streak, and did just that.

In a battle of 2-0 teams, the Atlanta Falcons traveled to Detroit to face the Lions in a pairing that turned out to be as good as the billing. Despite Atlanta scoring first and never trailing over the first 59 minutes of the game, the outcome remained in question until the final eight seconds.

Falcons improve to 2-0 with win over Packers, 34-23

The Atlanta Falcons (2-0) took the field to face the Green Bay Packers (1-1) in the national Sunday Night Game of the Week looking to start the season with back-to-back wins, and that they did. In a rematch of the teams that closed out the Georgia Dome last season, Atlanta started fast and then held off Green Bay for a 11-point victory, 34-23.

The Falcons beat the Bears in the Windy City to open the 2017 season.

The Atlanta Falcons (1-0) began their defense of the NFC title with a road win against the Chicago Bears (0-1) in Week 1 of the NFL 2017 regular season. On Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons, under the tutelage and direction of head coach Dan Quinn, were able to outlast the Chicago Bears for the win, a hard win to say the least.

After an 0-4 preseason, the Atlanta Falcons travel to Chicago to face the Bears for the season opener on Sunday and while this game will not define the season for the Birds, it will set a course. Head Coach Dan Quinn and his team want to start with a solid performance, and a road win in the Windy City would get Atlanta started in the right direction.
