Steam players Dakota Hughes, Adrian Purnell and Lauran Ziegler have been selected as starters for the LFL All-Fantasy Game which will be played in Guatemala City on December 4.

The Atlanta Steam will be represented in the Legends Football League All-Fantasy Game by QB Dakota Hughes, SS Adrian Purnell and FS Lauran Ziegler. The Steammates will be part of the Eastern Conference squad that will take on the Western Conference in the traditional LFL, also known as the Lingerie Football Legue, All-Star game that is scheduled for Saturday, December 4.

Hughes, Purnell and Ziegler have all been named as starters at their primary position for this year’s game which is an international event because it is being played at Estadio Mateo Flores, the largest national stadium in Guatemala which is located in Guatemala City.

Hughes will be making her second appearance in the game after being named to the team in her rookie season as well. It is the fourth consecutive All-Fantasy selection for both Purnell and Ziegler, who each were named to the Eastern Conference team last year as members of the Jacksonville Breeze.

The Steam have won back-to-back conference titles only to lose to the three-time LFL champion Chicago Bliss in the Legends Cup, the league championship game. Atlanta will return as part of the Eastern Conference again this season along with Chicago and Omaha who will be joined by a new team from the Northeast, most likely a Boston franchise.

While the location of the new franchise in the East has not been announced by the league, LFL Commissioner and founder Mitchell Mortaza posted through social media that “the most successful football city in recent years is about to inherit an LFL team" which led to speculation that the team would be a New England based one.

The Western Conference currently consists of returning teams Seattle, Los Angeles and Las Vegas along with a recently announced Texas franchise that will be based in Austin.

The LFL lineup changes on a regular basis, and this season will be no different. While the eight teams mentioned look to be the lineup for the 2016 season, it won’t be definite until the league releases the schedule for the coming season. There are rumors that a second Texas franchise may be in play, but that would mean either adding another team in the East to keep the conferences evenly populated or dropping a team to make room.

One thing that is sure is that the complete rosters for the All-Fantasy teams will be released soon, and Atlanta may see additional Steam players on their way to Guatemala.
